In 2008, as a student at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, Suzi recorded violin maker Jonathan Cooper at work in his Portland shop, Acoustic Artisans. On his bench was a copy of a 1734 instrument known as the Violon du Diable — the Devil's Violin.
